As salaamu alaikum,

A bit has changed in my life since my last post. Ok, actually a lot! I am now officially married and in three days it will be me and my hubby’s one month wedding anniversary. Woo hoo! I love married life so much. It’s very good to be able to do the things you love with the person that you love. Last night we went for a walk in a park near our apartment. It was so sweet. We talk about everything. I acted silly as I always do and he laughed at my antics. I think we balance each other out a lot. He brings practicality and frugality to my life and I think I bring beauty to his. Of course, our marriage isn’t perfect. We do things that annoy each other sometimes. However, ultimately, we can end up joking with each other again, praying with each other again, and continue being happily in love, happily married.

I’ve also been accepted to Case Western Reserve University. I am very happy about my acceptance and will be starting, Inshallah, in August. I’m taking this college experience in such a different light than my first college experience. I feel so much more mature and I want such different things now. Firstly, I want a degree! That is my no.1 focus this time around. When I was 18, I totally lost sight of that. Secondly, I want to enjoy my academics. I really want to just enjoy my classes this time around. Lastly, I want to make as much of my college experience as possible, whether that means making a ton of friends or making just one. I’ve realized that college is just a fraction of my life, not my whole life. I think this will make a world of difference in what I take from college this time.

Salaam,
MM
