As salaamu ‘alaikum!

A lot has happened since I last wrote. I am now working a summer job at a local hospital and taking summer courses. I work four days a week and take classes four days a week. Honestly, it’s exhausting. I’ve always done one or the other but not both in the summer. I feel like I really need a break but that won’t come until the end of July. Plus, I feel like this really cuts into my time that I would spend reading books, especially books on Islam and grad school.

There is so much I want to do this summer but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get it all done. I want to finally learn how to drive. I know I’ve been saying this forever but I really want to learn how to drive. I realize now that I really need to drive if I want to get around in this city. Catching the bus is a drag and a lot places are not accessible by bus. I guess once I’m done with my first class, I can focus on that goal more.

Outside of school and the dream of driving, married life has been good. My first year anniversary was in May, alhamduillah! We went out to dinner with some friends to celebrate. Hubby has been working on his writing and he’s been published in two newspaper. I’m so proud of him! I love his love of the deen and his dedication to it in the academic sense.

Well, that is my life in a nutshell.

’til next time!
